Accountability

Christ the Comforter

Ezekiel 18:20 (NIV) 20  The soul who sins is the one who will die. The son will not share the guilt of the father, nor will the father share the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous man will be credited to him, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against him.

Ezekiel 18:30 (NIV) 30  "Therefore, O house of Israel, I will judge you, each one according to his ways, declares the Sovereign LORD. Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall.

Matthew 12:36 (NIV) 36  But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken.

John 3:18 (NIV) 18  Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. Romans 14:11-12 (NIV) 11  It is written: "'As surely as I live,' says the Lord, 'every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God.'" 12  So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.

1 Corinthians 3:8 (NIV) 8  The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor. 2 Corinthians 5:10 (NIV) 10  For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

What difference does it make to you what someone else becomes, or says, or does? You do not need to answer for others, only for yourself. Thomas à Kempis (c. 1380-1471) Draper's Book of Quotations for the Christian World.
