We robbers and thieves

Matthew 27:38 "Two robbers were crucified with Him, one on His right and one on His left." (NIV)

So who were those two robbers anyway? You know them well. They are all of us. Some mock Christ while others repent and acknowledge Him as Lord and Savior. Everyone, one way or the other, does one or the other. There are no exceptions, no "in-betweens", to this reality marked by individual free-will.

It seems odd that today, being the day of Jesus' crucifixion, is called "Good Friday". What possibly could be "good" about the outrageously unjust execution of the Savior of the world by way of such an agonizing death on a cross? Perhaps Paul answers this best when he wrote: "And we know that in all things God works for the GOOD of those who love Him, who have been called according to His PURPOSE." Romans 8:28 (NIV)

Without any question, those two thieves were facing their final crisis time--their final time during which God made His call to them to invite them to receive His purpose--His plan for them. It is the plan of salvation available to all of us. And so, those two robbers had to make up their minds about Jesus--time was running out for them. Today, maybe you are in that same position as well. What will your choice be before your time runs out? Don't wait any longer. Choose Jesus Christ today.
