Christian Determination

Be determined to obey God-- 1 Samuel 7:3 (ESV)  And Samuel said to all the house of Israel, “If you are returning to the LORD with all your heart, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among you and direct your heart to the LORD and serve him only, and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.”

Determine not to sin-- Job 31:1 (ESV) “I have made a covenant with my eyes; how then could I gaze at a virgin?"

Determine to stand firm-- Isaiah 7:9 And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is the son of Remaliah. If you are not firm in faith, you will not be firm at all.

God helps us be determined-- Isaiah 50:7 (ESV) But the Lord GOD helps me; therefore I have not been disgraced; therefore I have set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be put to shame.
Determine to follow Christ-- Mark 8:34-35 (ESV) 34 And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 35 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel’s will save it.
