The Truth of God

1 Timothy 2:5-7 (NIV) 5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all men--the testimony given in its proper time. 7 And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an apostle--I am telling the truth, I am not lying--and a teacher of the true faith to the Gentiles.

Psalm 146:5-6 (NKJV) 5 Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in the LORD his God, 6 Who made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that is in them; Who keeps truth forever.

Psalm 100:5 (NKJV) For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.

John 17:17 (NKJV) Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.

John 14:6 (KJV) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Truth is objective because God exists outside ourselves; it is universal because God is above all; it is constant because God is eternal.  Absolute truth is absolute because it originates with God.  Josh McDowell
