PROTECT SOUND DOCTRINE

2 Timothy 1:13-14 (TLB) 13  Hold tightly to the pattern of truth I taught you, especially concerning the faith and love Christ Jesus offers you. 14  Guard well the splendid, God-given ability you received as a gift from the Holy Spirit who lives within you.

DOCTRINE COMES FROM THE BIBLE 2 Timothy 3:16 (NASB)

All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness.

LEADERS IN THE CHURCH MUST HAVE SOUND DOCTRINE

Titus 1:6-9 (NASB) 6  Namely, if any man is above reproach, the husband of one wife, having children who believe, not accused of dissipation or rebellion. 7  For the overseer must be above reproach as God's steward, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not addicted to wine, not pugnacious, not fond of sordid gain, 8  but hospitable, loving what is good, sensible, just, devout, self-controlled, 9  holding fast the faithful word which is in accordance with the teaching, so that he will be able both to exhort in sound doctrine and to refute those who contradict.

CHRISTIANS SHOULD TEACH CORRECT BELIEFS

Titus 2:1 (MSG) Your job is to speak out on the things that make for solid doctrine.

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

The Christian faith is the most exciting drama that ever staggered the imagination of man—and the dogma is the drama. That drama is summarized quite clearly in the creeds of the Church, and if we think it dull it is because we either have never really read those amazing documents or have recited them so often and so mechanically as to have lost all sense of their meaning.  Dorothy Sayers in Dorothy L.
