Constructive Criticism

Devotion open bible

Proverbs 13:18 (NIV) 18  He who ignores discipline comes to poverty and shame, but whoever heeds correction is honored.

Proverbs 25:12 (NLT) 12  To one who listens, valid criticism is like a gold earring or other gold jewelry.

1 Peter 3:16 (NLT) 16  But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ.

By seeing the tremendous blossoming which a person can experience when surrounded by love and confidence, when he does not feel judged, we can measure the stifling power of other people's criticism.  Paul Tournier (1898-1986) [Draper's Book of Quotations for the Christian World]
