Control your Anger

Control your Anger

Devotions

Ecclesiastes 7:9 (MSG) 9  Don't be quick to fly off the handle. Anger boomerangs. You can spot a fool by the lumps on his head.

Jonah 4:4 (MSG) 4  GOD said, "What do you have to be angry about?"

Matthew 5:22 (MSG) 22  I'm telling you that anyone who is so much as angry with a brother or sister is guilty of murder. Carelessly call a brother 'idiot!' and you just might find yourself hauled into court. Thoughtlessly yell 'stupid!' at a sister and you are on the brink of hellfire. The simple moral fact is that words kill.

Ephesians 4:31 (MSG) 31  Make a clean break with all cutting, backbiting, profane talk.

Psalm 37:8 (MSG) 8  Bridle your anger, trash your wrath, cool your pipes—it only makes things worse.

Anger is a weed; hate is the tree.  Augustine of Hippo (354-430)

Hot heads and cold hearts never solved anything.  Billy Graham (1918- ) [Draper's Book of Quotations for the Christian World]
