Patience My Child

Jesus Shadow

James 5:8 (TLB) 8  Yes, be patient. And take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near.

James 5:10-11 (TLB) 10  For examples of patience in suffering, look at the Lord’s prophets. 11  We know how happy they are now because they stayed true to him then, even though they suffered greatly for it. Job is an example of a man who continued to trust the Lord in sorrow; from his experiences we can see how the Lord’s plan finally ended in good, for he is full of tenderness and mercy.

Philippians 4:5-7 (TLB) 5  Let everyone see that you are unselfish and considerate in all you do. Remember that the Lord is coming soon. 6  Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank him for his answers. 7  If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus.

Matthew 14:27 (TLB) 27  But Jesus immediately spoke to them, reassuring them. "Don’t be afraid!"

“Take your needle, my child, and work at your pattern; it will come out a rose by and by." Life is like that; one stitch at a time taken patiently, and the pattern will come out all right like embroidery.” Oliver Wendell Holmes (1809-1894) Draper's Book of Quotations for the Christian World.
