Charity of the Heart

Weeping Jesus

Psalm 41:1-2 (NIV) 1  Blessed is he who has regard for the weak; the LORD delivers him in times of trouble. 2  The LORD will protect him and preserve his life; he will bless him in the land and not surrender him to the desire of his foes.

Proverbs 19:17 (NIV) 17  He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done.

Luke 14:13-14 (NIV) 13  But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, 14  and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous."

Luke 12:33-34 (NIV) 33  Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. 34  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

If you haven't got any charity in your heart, you have the worse: kind of heart trouble.  Bob Hope Draper's Book of Quotations for the Christian World.
