What are you doing here in a cave?

1 Kings 19:9 (NIV)   "There he [Elijah] went into a cave and spent the night. And the word of the LORD came to him: "What are you doing here, Elijah?"

Elijah became discouraged when the wicked Queen Jezebel sent an army to kill him.  And so, he hid in a cave.  All of which prompted the question from God in 1 Kings 19:9 above.  Do you sometimes feel like Elijah?  In the society in which we try to live our lives as Christians, do you sometimes feel like hiding in a cave?  As tempting as that may be, God calls for us to stand strong and shine His Light in the world's darkness.  While it may feel as if the world's armies are screaming for your head on a platter, remember this:  Jesus overcame the world.  (John 16:33)  He calls us out of our caves to live openly for Him!
