Acts 17:11-12 (NIV) 11  Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. 12  Many of the Jews believed, as did also a number of prominent Greek women and many Greek men.

Hebrews 5:14 (NIV) But solid food [God’s Word] is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.

James 1:4-8 (NIV)4  Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5  If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6  But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7  That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; 8  he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.

Faith is the divine evidence whereby the spiritual man discerneth God, and the things of God John Wesley.
