Thirsting for God

Jesus Shadow

Psalm 42:2 (NLT) I thirst for God, the living God. When can I go and stand before him?

Isaiah 55:1 (NLT) “Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink— even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine or milk— it’s all free!”

Psalm 63:1 (NLT) O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water.

Matthew 5:6 (NIV) Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

John 4:13-14 (NIV) 13  Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14  but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."

“The key to Christian living is a thirst and hunger for God. And one of the main reasons people do not understand or experience the sovereignty of grace and the way it works through the awakening of sovereign joy is that their hunger and thirst for God is so small.” John Piper.
