Listening for His Voice with un-hardened hearts

Psalm 95:7-8 (NIV) 7  for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Today, if you hear his voice, 8  do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah, as you did that day at Massah in the desert,

The whole idea of vocation, whatever form that vocation may take, implies the response to a call. If I am to live up to my vocation, I must go on listening for this voice. "Today, if you hear my voice, harden not your heart." That phrase of Psalms 95:7 makes a wonderful opening to daily prayer. —Esther de Waal
