If God were not forgiving, then . . .

2 Samuel 24:14 (NIV) David said to Gad, "I am in deep distress. Let us fall into the hands of the LORD, for his mercy is great; but do not let me fall into the hands of men."

Job 31:13-14 (NIV) If I have denied justice to my menservants and maidservants when they had a grievance against me, 14  what will I do when God confronts me? What will I answer when called to account?

Psalm 25:6 (NIV) Remember, O LORD, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old.

If God were not willing to forgive sin, heaven would be empty. —German Proverb.
