Self-Control

1 Corinthians 9:25 (TEV) Every athlete in training submits to strict discipline, in order to be crowned with a wreath that will not last; but we do it for one that will last forever.

2 Timothy 1:7 (TEV) For the Spirit that God has given us does not make us timid; instead, his Spirit fills us with power, love, and self-control.

Proverbs 16:32 (TLB) It is better to be slow-tempered than famous; it is better to have self-control than to control an army.

"Man who man would be, must rule the empire of himself."
—Percy Bysshe Shelley, Men of Integrity, Vol. 2, no. 2.
