Discernment

The Bible will help you discern bad teaching-- Acts 17:11 (NASB) Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.

God grants discernment-- 1 Corinthians 12:10 (TEV) The Spirit gives one person the power to work miracles; to another, the gift of speaking God's message; and to yet another, the ability to tell the difference between gifts that come from the Spirit and those that do not. To one person he gives the ability to speak in strange tongues, and to another he gives the ability to explain what is said.

Discern between right and wrong behavior-- Hebrews 5:13-14 (TEV) 13 Anyone who has to drink milk is still a child, without any experience in the matter of right and wrong. 14 Solid food, on the other hand, is for adults, who through practice are able to distinguish between good and evil.

Ask God for help in discerning his will-- James 1:5 (TEV) But if any of you lack wisdom, you should pray to God, who will give it to you; because God gives generously and graciously to all.

"Discernment is God's call to intercession, never to faultfinding."
