Not only hearing God’s Word–but, living it!

James 1:22 (KJV) 22  But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

James 1:25 (NKJV) But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

Matthew 12:50 (NIV) 50  For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother."

Luke 6:46-49 (NIV) 46  "Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say? 47  I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice. 48  He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. 49  But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete."

Luke 11:28 (NIV) He replied, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it."

John 13:17 (NIV) Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

QUOTE OF THE DAY:  "A Christian should always remember that the value of his good works is not based on their number and excellence, but on the love of God which prompts him to do these things."  Saint John of the Cross (1542-1591)  (Draper's Book of Quotations for the Christian World.)
