Like Father…

Three Crosses at Sunset
I was invited to a home to talk with a father about his son. As he described the circumstances, he said, "The thing that bothers me most is that drugs have made him a liar."  The phone rang and his wife went to answer it. She came back and said, "So-and-so is on the phone and wants to talk to you." His immediate answer was "Tell him I'm not home."

Proverbs 20:7 (ESV) The righteous who walks in his integrity— blessed are his children after him!

Psalm 24:4 (ESV) He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully.

John 8:44 (ESV) You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
