Our future in the hands of God

christian cross

GOD HAS PLANS FOR OUR FUTURE

Genesis 12:1-4 (NLT) 1  The LORD had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you. 2  I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. 3  I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.” 4  So Abram departed as the LORD had instructed, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he left Haran.

GOD WILL BLESS OUR FUTURE IF WE OBEY HIM

Deuteronomy 5:29 (NLT)  Oh, that they would always have hearts like this, that they might fear me and obey all my commands! If they did, they and their descendants would prosper forever.

DO NOT PLAN YOUR FUTURE LIKE EVIL PEOPLE DO

Jeremiah 10:2-3 (NLT) 2  This is what the LORD says: “Do not act like the other nations, who try to read their future in the stars. Do not be afraid of their predictions, even though other nations are terrified by them. 3  Their ways are futile and foolish. They cut down a tree, and a craftsman carves an idol.

GOD GIVES US HOPE FOR OUR FUTURE

Jeremiah 31:17 (NLT) There is hope for your future,” says the LORD. “Your children will come again to their own land.

GOD PREPARES A FUTURE FOR US

1 Corinthians 2:9 (NLT)  That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.”

QUOTE OF THE DAY

God will not permit man to have a knowledge of things to come; for if man had a foresight of his prosperity, he would become arrogant and careless; and if he had an understanding of his adversity, he would become listless and despairing. Saint Augustine of Hippo (354-430) Draper's Book of Quotations for the Christian World.
