Working as if for Jesus

WORK SHOULD NOT OVERRUN YOUR TIME WITH GOD

Exodus 16:23 (CEB) He said to them, "This is what the LORD has said, 'Tomorrow is a day of rest, a holy Sabbath to the LORD. Bake what you want to bake and boil what you want to boil. But you can set aside and keep all the leftovers until the next morning.'"

GOD GIVES YOU THE ABILITY TO WORK

Exodus 35:30-31 (CEB) 30  Then Moses said to the Israelites: "Look, the LORD has chosen Bezalel, Uri's son and Hur's grandson from the tribe of Judah. 31  The LORD has filled him with the divine spirit that will give him skill, ability, and knowledge for every kind of work.

WORKERS SHOULD BE TRUSTWORTHY

Proverbs 25:13 (NLT) Trustworthy messengers refresh like snow in summer. They revive the spirit of their employer.

DO THE BEST JOB YOU CAN

Ecclesiastes 9:10 (NLT)  Whatever you do, do well. For when you go to the grave, there will be no work or planning or knowledge or wisdom.

WORK AS THOUGH JESUS WERE YOUR BOSS

Ephesians 6:6 (TLB)  Don’t work hard only when your master is watching and then shirk when he isn’t looking; work hard and with gladness all the time, as though working for Christ, doing the will of God with all your hearts.

CHRISTIANS SHOULD DO THEIR BEST AT THEIR JOB

Titus 2:9-10 (MSG) 9  Guide slaves into being loyal workers, a bonus to their masters—no back talk, 10  no petty thievery. Then their good character will shine through their actions, adding luster to the teaching of our Savior God.
