Be meek

Matthew 5:5 (NIV)  Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

1 Peter 3:4 (NIV)  Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.

Zephaniah 2:3 (NIV) Seek the LORD, all you humble of the land, you who do what he commands. Seek righteousness, seek humility; perhaps you will be sheltered on the day of the LORD's anger.

Psalm 25:9 (NIV)  He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.

Psalm 37:11 (NIV)  But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy great peace.

Meek endurance and meek obedience, the accepting of his dealings, of whatever complexion they are and however they may tear and desolate our hearts, without murmuring, without sulking, without rebellion or resistance, is the deepest conception of the meekness that Christ pronounced blessed.    Alexander Maclaren (1826-1910) Draper's Book of Quotations for the Christian World.
