Psalm 16:9-10 (NIV) 9  Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, 10  because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay.

Psalm 49:14-15 (NIV) 14  Like sheep they are destined for the grave, and death will feed on them. The upright will rule over them in the morning; their forms will decay in the grave, far from their princely mansions. 15  But God will redeem my life from the grave; he will surely take me to himself. Selah

Job 19:26 (NIV) And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God.

Luke 14:12-14 (NIV) 12  Then Jesus said to his host, "When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid. 13  But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, 14  and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous."

John 11:25-26 (NIV) 25  Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; 26  and whoever lives and believes in me will never die."

Christianity is in its very essence a resurrection religion. The concept of resurrection lies at its heart. If you remove it, Christianity is destroyed. John R. W. Stott [Draper's Book of Quotations for the Christian World]
