The tithe of a child

Leviticus 27:30 (NIV) A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the LORD; it is holy to the LORD.

Mark 10:15 (NIV) I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.

1 Corinthians 16:2 (NIV) On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made.

One Sunday, our 3-year-old son Jason had a quarter to put in the offering plate. As the plate passed by, he asked me what God did with the money. I whispered that I'd explain it to him later. He thought for a minute, looked at me and said, "I know. I bet he goes to Wal-Mart!"—Brenda H., "Life in our House," Christian Parenting Today, Vol. 12, no. 6.
