What’s in your heart?

Matthew 15:18-19 (NIV) 18  But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man 'unclean.' 19  For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.

Luke 6:45 (NIV) The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.

2 Corinthians 5:12 (NIV) [Be able to] answer those who take pride in what is seen rather than in what is in the heart.

The widest thing in the universe is not space; it is the potential capacity of the human heart. Being made in the image of God, it is capable of almost unlimited extension in all directions. And one of the world's greatest tragedies is that we allow our hearts to shrink until there is room in them for little beside ourselves. - A. W. Tozer (1897-1963)
