Our God Helps in Times of Adversity

Genesis 31:42 (ESV)  [Jacob to Laban:] "If the God of my father, the God of Abraham and the Fear of Isaac, had not been on my side, surely now you would have sent me away empty-handed. God saw my affliction and the labor of my hands and rebuked you last night.”

Exodus 14:13-14 (ESV) 13 And Moses said to the people, “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again. 14 The LORD will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.”

Psalm 31:7 (ESV) I will rejoice and be glad in your steadfast love, because you have seen my affliction; you have known the distress of my soul.

Luke 6:21 (ESV) “Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you shall be satisfied. “Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh."

What we do in the crisis always depends on whether we see the difficulties in the light of God, or God in the shadow of the difficulties.
