Hospitality

Church front

1 Peter 4:9 (NIV)  Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.

James 2:15-16 (NIV) 15  Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. 16  If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it?

Mark 9:41 (ESV) For truly, I say to you, whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because you belong to Christ will by no means lose his reward.

Acts 20:35 (CEB) In everything I have shown you that, by working hard, we must help the weak. In this way we remember the Lord Jesus' words: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"

Romans 12:13 (NIV) Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

Hospitality is a test for godliness because those who are selfish do not like strangers (especially needy ones) to intrude upon their private lives. They prefer their own friends who share their life-style. Only the humble have the necessary resources to give of themselves to those who could never give of themselves in return. Erwin W. Lutzer (1941- ) [Draper's Book of Quotations for the Christian World]
